The Oregon Lumber Jacks (2-2) shut down the Palm Springs Power (1-2) 4-0 to start the fourth day of the California Winter League at Palm Springs Stadium.

The momentum continued as the Lumber Jacks added one in the third and two in the fourth. Bobby Martin, Trey Austin and Tyler Eichmeyer belted one RBI each. Ray Hernandez, Gabe DeMarco and Austin scored once.

The Power was turned off by Nathan Wheelock, who tossed four exceptional innings en route to a two-hitter.

The Palm Desert Coyotes (3-1) defeated the Canada A’s (0-3) 9-5 in a topsy-turvy second contest of the afternoon that included five lead changes.

Dustin Smith came through for the second consecutive game with the game-winning hit, a two RBI double in the fifth inning to break a 4-4 tie.

Danny Dyer ripped a home run and scored twice.

Mike Meaney crushed a homer into orbit in a losing effort for the A’s.

In the final game of the tripleheader, the Coachella Valley Snowbirds (4-0) beat the Washington Bluesox (2-2) 4-0.

Seafth Howe struck out all nine hitters he faced and the Snowbirds hurled the second two-hitter of the day.

The Snowbirds scored three runs in the sixth inning as Austin Fraker and Troy Zawadski had RBI. Matt Chavez, Zach Brosten and Eric Bainer scored once each.

Wacy Sorenson picked up the win for the second consecutive game.
