The quarterfinals threw first pitch today for the California Winter League. In the 9 am game between the three seed Washington Bluesox (9-6-2) and the sixth seed British Columbia Bombers (6-11).

Chris Cummins pitched an impressive seven inning game striking out twelve batters with no walks

The Bluesox dominate and advance behind a three for four day with three singles and an RBI.

Ryan McMillin added an RBI sac fly in the fourth, Joey Johnson drove home two runs and Gabe Maldonaldo scored a run, Bluesox 7 Bombers 3.

In game two of the day, the eighth seeded Palm Desert Coyotes (5-12) had upset on the mind as they took on the first place Coachella Valley Snowbirds (14-3).

Coyote hurler Ryan Zimmerman pitched a complete game with fourteen strikeouts allowing just two hits.

The Snowbirds drove home a run in the first inning from the bat of Eric Bainer to take an early lead.

Michael Durham added an RBI single in the fourth inning as the Snowbirds survive and advance, 3-1.

Seafth Howe earned the victory racking up three strikeouts in the process and Wacy Sorrenson earned the save.

In game three of the day, the number two seed Palm Springs POWER (10-6-1) faced the seven seed Canada A’s (6-11).

Jacob Kemmerer delivered throwing a complete game shut-out, only allowing three hits as the A’s upset the POWER 1-0.

In the first inning a fielder’s choice double play with no outs allowed Deaun Williams to come home for the game’s only run.

POWER pitcher Clayton Vanderlaan went a complete game as well with nine strikeouts.

Pitchers duels in the morning, all-out offensive showcase finishes the day with the fourth game between the fifth seeded Palm Springs Chill (7-9-1) and the fourth seed Oregon Lumberjacks (9-8).

The Chill showed a patient approach early drawing twelve walks.

Adam Seaman hit a three run home run in the fifth inning.

Diaki Tenaka went three for four with three RBI’s as the Chill advance in offensive fashion 12-5.

Tomorrow’s semifinals set up as follows;

#3 Bluesox vs #5 Chill at 9 am

#1 Snowbirds vs #7 Canada A’s at 11:30 am

These games will be played inside Palm Springs Stadium.
